He held the Dutch record of goals for the national team from April 30, 1905 (when he scored four goals in the first ever match of the Dutch national team) until March 21, 1909 (when his total was surpassed by Edu Snethlage; after the adjustment made my the KNVB in March 2013, it turns out Snethlage already surpassed him on October 25, 1908).
