[5] Some records ignore the abandoned match on March 21, 1937, in Vienna.
Since Italy had a series of 9 matches without defeat before that match,
this would extend the series to 28. However, as Italy were well down at
the time of the abandonment, with only 17 minutes to play, and were
mainly to blame for the abandonment, this cannot be accepted. The match
is considered a full international by Austria (with 'result' 2-0) while
the Italians prefer to ignore it altogether. Below, for the sake of
completeness, the series of 9 matches before that game.

  4. 31- 5-1936 Budapest Hungary 2-1
  -. 3- 8-1936 Berlin USA 1-0 [Olympic Games]
  5. 7- 8-1936 Berlin Japan 8-0 [Olympic Games]
  6. 10- 8-1936 Berlin Norway 2-1 [Olympic Games]

did not consider their matches full internationals.
