Bonaire - List of Champions

The current B.V.B. (Bonairiaanse Voetbal Bond) was founded in 1960. Earlier organisations with the same name existed in the 1930s (Bonairaansche Voetbal Bond, founded in June 1933, with 9 member clubs at the end of that year and in existence until 1937) and later in the 1950s (Bonairiaanse Voetbal Bond, founded in the summer of 1954 by 5 clubs, presumably including Flamingo who hosted Blitz, a club from Sint Maarten, in 1956) but no data are available on the competitions these organised.
The third (and current) B.V.B. was founded by 8 clubs (Cierra Maestra, Flamingo, Vespo, O.A., Centro Rincón, Amstel, Deportivo and Uruguay) and organised a knock-out tournament on 6 June 1960 (Whitmonday) won by Deportivo (6-1 winners over Cierra Maestra in the final); its first league competition finished in 1961. This B.V.B. joined the N.A.V.U. on 4 August 1963, but did not obtain representation at the championship of the Dutch Antilles until 1972.
