Curaçao - List of Champions

The C.V.B. (Curaçaosche Voetbal Bond) was officially founded on 2 Nov 1921, after the first ever local championship, which was held in a knock-out format in August 1921. However, the organisation itself (later officially renamed F.F.K., Federashon Futbol Korsou, the version of its name in Papiamentu, which became an official language on the island, together with English, in March 2007) retains 23 May 1921 as its foundation date, this being the day on which discussions about forming the federation started.
The C.V.B. joined the F.I.F.A. on 4 May 1932, three years after the S.V.B. (Surinam) and eight years after the N.I.V.B. (Dutch East Indies); thus, at the time the Kingdom of the Netherlands boasted 4 F.I.F.A. member federations.
At the beginning of 1974, 20 clubs left the C.V.B. and founded a semi-professional federation (Fedeprof, also abbreviated F.F.P.C.: Federashon Futbol Profesional do Corsow) which eventually returned to the C.V.B. and started a first semi-professional league on 8 Sep 1974.
Between 1960 and 2010, the champions and runners-up from Curaçao qualified for the championship of the Dutch Antilles, which they dominated throughout its half-century of existence, winning 44 of the 46 championships played.
When the football federation of the island took over membership from the dissolved N.A.V.U., the official name of the federation as registered at F.I.F.A. changed to C.F.F. (Curaçao Football Federation, the English translation of the original name).
