[*] w/o goals Dec 17
[1] DWASCO were renamed Dwangwa United FC after parting with sponsors
    Illovo Sugar Ltd early May 2005

NB: CIVO United were entered for the CAF Champions League 2006 prior to
    the ill-fated Dec 18 championship decider against Bullets by the FAM,
    apparently without the clubs knowledge who had merely 'expressed an
    interest' in participating in the tournament (apparently unlike
    Bullets who experienced financial problems during their otherwise
    successful campaign in 2004). Following CIVO's punishment by SULOM
    after the Bullets match (including forfeiting 90 percent of their
    prize money for finishing fourth in the league and a four-month
    suspension) they informed FAM that they will not enter the CAF
    Champions League. The punishment was later revoked (as was Bullets'
    two-month suspension - both clubs were handed a 3-month ban during
    the off-season (Dec 22 to Mar 22) in which time they are not allowed
    to conclude transfer deals nor play any matches).

Topscorer: Charles Ngosi (ADMARC Tigers)

NB: explanation of various abbreviations:

ADMARC (Tigers) = Agricultural Development and MARketing Corporation
CIVO United = Civil Service United
DWASCO = Dwangwa Sugar Corporation
(Super) ESCOM = Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi Limited
KRADD (Eagles) = Karonga Agricultural Development Division
MAFCO = Malawi Armed Forces College
MTL = Malawi Telecommunications Limited

NB: Red Lions have been part of the elite league since its inception in 1986.
