Semi Pro League 1989

The Semi-Pro League, involving nine teams in Division One and eight in 
Division Two, will serve as the preliminary round for the Malaysia Cup.
Under the new format, only the top six teams in Division One and the
Division Two champions and runners-up will be involved in the Malaysia Cup. 
It will be played from the quarterfinal Stage, scheduled for November after
the Semi Pro League. The Malaysia Cup quarterfinal and semifinal matches 
will be played on a home and away basis.

Division One: 
Pahang, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Kedah, Penang, Kelantan, Sarawak, Johor 
and Selangor.

Division Two: 
Malacca, Armed Forces, Negri Sembalan, Perlis, Terengganu, Brunei, Sabah 
and Perak.
