* - Scorer reported as D Steel but may have in fact been David Seal.
** - Also reported as Ba.
***- New Zealand initially qualified along with Australia (under the same
format as in 1988). However, in December 1990 FIFA decreed that Australia
would be the sole Oceania representative in the play-offs. In addition,
because of the Gulf Crisis, it was decided in early 1991 to move the
play-offs venue from Israel to Australia.

Intercontinental Qualification

 6- 3-91 Sydney Australia 0-1 Israel
 9- 3-91 Sydney Israel 1-2 Australia
                           [unknown; David Seal, Kris Trajanovski]

Australia won on away goals (despite both matches being played in Sydney) and
qualified for the 1991 World Youth Cup.
