KCC (founded 1963) made their debut in the first division of the Kampala and District Football League (KDFL), in which other clubs included: Express FC, Army FC, Prisons, KDS, Railways, UEB and Nsambya.

KCC (who did not enter the recently established National Football League) were relegated to the second level of the KDFL. However, the KDFL was scrapped and a second national level was sent up, in which KCC entered along with (among others) Nsambya and NIC.

Express beat Simba 2-0 in a crucial league match but were subsequently banned for allegedly being involving in anti-government activities, by the Governor of the Central Province, Col. Abdallah Nasur, unhappy about his side's loss. The ban was only lifted in 1979 after the regime of Idi Amin had ended.
In promotion play-offs, Mount of the Moon FC (an army side) pulled out guns and shot randomly after Nakivubo Boys (SC Villa) scored a winning goal.

KCC obtained the league title thanks to Uganda Commercial Bank conceding a walk-over in a late league match; in return, KCC conceded a walk-over to UCB in the semi-final of the Kakungulu Cup; however, UCB lost the cup final to Coffee after a penalty shoot-out.
Championship played by 'Super Ten'. SC Villa unbeaten champions, dropping only 4 points. 10 clubs were relegated in 1981 from top level to 'Regular' (new 2nd level below 'Super Ten'), including: NIC, Coffee, Nsambya and Bell

NB: Nsambya had to win their remaining 3 league matches with a total
goal difference of +20 in order to overtake Cooperative and
qualify for the next stage (presumably this refers to the second
level league and/or a promotion competition), and managed to do
so thanks to fixing that 18-0 against Wembley; both Nsambya and
Cooperative finished their program with 66 points.
