The "Federació Balear de Futbol" was founded in 1926 by clubs of the Balearic Islands, and organized a regional championship from the season 1927-28. Extremadura.
It was also a qualifying phase of the Spanish Cup, in spite of being one of the championships with a relatively low level.

CD Alfonso XIII used the name of the Spanish King. When he abdicated (1931), the club was called Club Deportivo Mallorca. From 1939 its name is Real Club Deportivo Mallorca.
