Played by 72 teams:
 - all 22 clubs of First Division. 
 - 17 (out of 20) clubs of Second Division. Barcelona B, Real Madrid B and Atlético Madrid B couldn't inscribe.
 - 32 (out of 80) clubs of Second Division B.
    - 2 (out of 3), relegated from Second A the previous season. (Athletic B excluded as reserve team)
    - 16 which were in the top 5 of their groups the previous season. 
    (Among them, Las Palmas, Ourense, Levante and Atlético B had been promoted) 
      Group I: Atlético B (which was also promoted) and Deportivo B leave their places to 6th and 7th of the table.
      Group II: Sporting B and Osasuna B leave their place to Barakaldo and Valladolid B (but this is also a reserve 
             team, so it's excluded but not substitued)
      Group III: Valencia B leaves the place to the 6th
      Group IV: Top five qualify, as none of them was a reserve team
    - 14 (out of 18) which were promoted from Third Division
             (Celta B, Oviedo B and Zaragoza B excluded for being reserve teams)
             (Zamudio got the promotion in August and hadn't the right to inscribe)
 - 0 (out of 348, in 17 groups) of Third Division
 - Sestao SC had inscribed to play the Cup, as relegated team from Second Division, but the club was disbanded in August

Clubs playing European competition get a bye until to be eliminated or the Round of 16.
