Sint Maarten - List of Champions

A team called Blitz from the island visited Bonaire in June 1956, playing local side Flamingo.
The S.M.S.A. (Sint Maarten Soccer Association) was founded in 1979, but a league championship was organised before that, first in 1975/76.
Until then, several clubs entered the league of Saint-Martin: A.R.C. competed there between 1970 and (at least) 1973, hosting their matches in Cul de Sac (at the time the only football ground on the Dutch part of the island).
In 1982, Sint Maarten club side Sparta visited Sint Eustatius.
In 2011/12 and 2012/13 a tournament (Division Excellence) involving clubs from both Saint-Martin and Sint Maarten (and Saint-Barthélemy) was organised.
