Uruguay participated uninterruptedly in the World Cup Qualifyings since 1958 and qualified to the final tournament in 1962, 1966, 1970, 1974, 1986, 1990, 2002 and 2010; being eliminated in 1958, 1978, 1982, 1994, 1998 and 2006.
