Futbol del Interior (OFI) 1998
=========================

Torneo de Clubes Campeones de OFI.

(first major tournament of the clubs who won the championships of the
 "interior"; amateur, organized by OFI; 8 teams playing double round
 robin in two groups of 4).

NB: OFI organizes amateur football in 18 of 19 provinces in Uruguay (AUF 
    organizes professional football and amateur football in Montevideo).

    The provinces concerned are:
    Artigas (capital Artigas), Salto (Salto), Paysandú (Paysandú), 
    Río Negro (Fray Bentos), Soriano (Mercedes), Colonia (Colonia),
    San José (San José), Flores (Trinidad), Florida (Florida), 
    Lavalleja (Minas), Canelones (Canelones), Maldonado (Maldonado),
    Rocha (Rocha), Treinta y Tres (Treinta y Tres), Cerro Largo (Melo),
    Durazno (Durazno), Tacuarembó (Tacuarembó), Rivera (Rivera).

    OFI itself consists of three confederations:
    Litoral (Artigas, Salto, Paysandú, Río Negro, Tacuarembó, Rivera,
             Soriano and Colonia Interior (province without capital);
    Sur (Colonia Capital, San José, Flores, Florida, Durazno, Canelones
         [southern, northern and western part], Paso de los Toros [city
         in the south of Tacuarembó]);
    Este (Maldonado, Rocha, Treinta y Tres, Cerro Largo, Tacuarembó,
          Lavalleja, Canelones [eastern part]).
