USA - D2-Pro League


The D2Pro League was a temporary USSF-sponsored league created for the 2010 season as a result of continuing hostilities between USL Division 1, and the new North American Soccer League II, which Consisted primarily of breakaway teams from USL. The breakaway teams had left after voicing their displeasure over the nature of the sale of United Soccer Leagues to new investors. With lawsuits in full swing, the USSF Stepped in and ordered the teams from both leagues to play together in A temporary circuit, the USSF Division 2 Professional league, while they worked out their issues For 2011. 2010 Austin, Portland, and Puerto Rico, joined from USL Division 1. Carolina, Crystal Palace, Miami F. C., Montreal, Rochester, St. Louis, F. C. Tampa Bay and Vancouver joined from the NASL. Austin moved to Orlando, and (along with Rochester) moved to the new USL-Pro League (a merger of USL-1 and USL-2). Baltimore and St. Louis went on hiatus, and Minnesota, Puerto Rico, Tampa Bay, Miami and Montreal went to the NASL II.
