    who obtain respectively 5, 3 and 1 points.
    In 2004 rules changed and a preliminary list of 35 eligible players was established by FIFA; then
    the coaches and captains of the national teams, each selected three players who obtain respectively

    Until 1999 the team ranked on 1st place on FIFA Ranking at December was the 
    winner.  Since 2000 the Team of the Year Award goes for the national team which
    has the highest average points score in their seven best matches of the year. 
    The team ranked first at the end of the year is the Top Ranked Team.
    
    For consistency purposes, we continue considering the team ranked first at 
    the end of the year for this archive, in addition to the new Team of the

    Since the 1978 World Cup, FIFA oficially gives the Fair Play Award. It 
    is given to to the team with the best record of fair play according to 
    a points system and criteria established by the FIFA Fair Play Committee.
