South America - "Other Copas"

Apart from the Copa Libertadores, the Supercopa, the Copa Conmebol, and the Recopa, several other club tournaments are being or have been played, such as the Supercopa Masters since 1992, the Copa de Oro since 1993, and the Copa Conmebol Masters since 1996.

Most have only had a few editions, and the greater part was discontinued after the Copa Mercosur and Copa Merconorte started in 1998 - which also meant the end for the Supercopa, the Copa Conmebol, and (temporarily) the Recopa.

Like the Supercopa and Copa Conmebol, all the cups below have been discontinued, leaving the Copa Libertadores as the only South American club tournament to be taken seriously.

Recopa Sudamericana de Clubes

Played twice, in 1970 and 1971, between teams from various South American countries (one per country). The 1971 edition was not finished.

Played between the winners of the Supercopa. First played in 1992 between the (then) four past winners of the Supercopa (Racing Club, Boca Juniors, Olimpia Asunción, and Cruzeiro). The competition for 1994 was played in March 1995 (and erroneously claimed in some publications to be the 1996 edition).

Played only twice, discontinued after establishment of Copa Mercosur.
